Are You On Your Way to Heaven?
"The safest road to hell is the gradual one -the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts"
C.S. Lewis
Jesus said these words, words hard to swallow, words that should make you think, listen to Him...
"Enter through the narrow gate. for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it"
Matthew 7: 13- 14
If you grew up in a Church and this passage is well known to you, I ask you, please, read it again. Let Jesus' words speak deep into your heart.
Most people who are walking under His sun will not go to Heaven; and this is not my saying, this is what Jesus said.
All people who are walking under His sun have sinned and have fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3: 23); Yes, all of us, every human being breathing the oxygen He gives; which includes you and me, and even all those who once saw the light of the day and now are only dust. We all have sinned, and have fall short of the glory of God.
We all deserve Hell, not Heaven. We all are journeying daily on our way to Hell, unless God calls us, and bring us to repentance, and give us faith to believe in His only begotten Son.
Don't be fooled; maybe you have heard that God is so good that He would not "dare" to send people to Hell. Do not listen to them, listen to God instead. Jesus said that He will say to those who have not been washed with His blood, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" Matthew 25: 41
Hear Jesus speaking again about the unsaved destiny, "{they} will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" Matthew 8:12
"Earth is an in-between world touched both by Heaven and Hell. Earth leads directly into Heaven or directly into Hell...the best of life on Earth is a glimpse of Heaven; the worst of life is a glimpse of Hell. For Christians, this present life is the closest they will come to Hell. For unbelievers, it is the closest they will come to Heaven" Randy Alcorn
We all deserve Hell, we all deserve to be thrown aside, into the darkness.
Yet God has, in His great mercy, sent His Son to open a way to Heaven. He, Jesus Christ, is the only way to Heaven, in fact, He is "the Way"
God knows our condition (Psalm 103:14), He knows we are dead in our sins and trespasses. Our will is not free, it is a slave of sin, and that is why we cannot choose Him (John 6:44). We cannot invite Him into our heart. It is He who calls us (John 5:40) . We don't choose to love Him, we just can't do such a thing; we, instead hate righteousness (Romans 3). He chooses who will follow Him; He calls His lambs into his arms (John 15:16).
"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— Ephesians 2: 1-5
So, today, if you hear His voice calling you, if you are able to see how unworthy you are of Him; don't hesitate any more, don't say "tomorrow I will repent" Salvation is near to you today. Repent, walk into the narrow gate, and you will start journeying into Heaven. My prayer is that the Lord may grant you repentance, so may know the truth. (2 Timothy 2:24-26)
And, if you call yourself a Christian, please stop mow, and consider the words Paul wrote to the Corinthians,
"Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves." 2 Corinthians 13:5
How should you examine yourself? Listen to John (read 1 John all), hear him saying,
"And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked." 1 John 2: 3-6
"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. " 1 John 2:15- 17
I ask you, my friend, "Are You On Your Way to Heaven?
