"It becomes us to spend this life only as a journey toward heaven... to which we should subordinate all other concerns of life. Why should we labor for or set our hearts on anything else, but that which is our proper end and true happiness?"
Jonathan Edwards
"I am still pondering God's greatness in His creation. I have so many questions that I would like to ask the Lord about the universe, creation, the fall of man... But when I'm in heaven, I wonder if I will even remember them. At that time, being in the presence of God will be enough. I'm thankful that I can look forward to that day."
-Persis
“Heaven is not here, it’s There. If we were given all we wanted here, our hearts would settle for this world rather than the next. God is forever luring us up and away from this one, wooing us to Himself and His still invisible Kingdom, where we will certainly find what we so keenly long for.”
- Elisabeth Elliot, Keep a Quiet Heart

What a bountiful post with which to start my day and week, Becky. Such reminders of the Glory of God that goes beyond all description and whose boundaries are limitless. This post is filled with treasures. I look forward to delving into it deeper as time allows. Thank you so much for this rich nourishment today which can only serve to strengthen my stem as I read it and receive the sharing of God's word within.
"O my reader, how thankful should we be that everything is determined by infinite wisdom and goodness! What praise and gratitude are due unto God for His Divine decrees. It is because of them that"we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" (Rom. 8:28). Well may we exclaim, "For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things:to whom he glory forever. Amen" (Rom 11:36)."
All glory to God forever, indeed! Forever and ever and ever! Amen!
If Christians are allowed to have "favorite things" about God...my favorite things are definitely His sovereignty and His goodness...going hand in hand. It's been my most tangible spiritual life lesson for the past year.
Out of the many doctrines, God's sovereignty would be first on my list. It's wonderful how these truths interweave supporting each other.
What a wonderful list,Becky, fills my heart with graditude just reading through it. Thank you for reminding me of thankfulness on Mondays. Is there any more worthy truths to reflect on?
This is such a beautiful post!
God's love and sovereignty, knit together with His infallible wisdom and eternal faithfulness, are the divine shoulders that support me in faith! What wonderful post! Love and blessings!
Amen, Becky!
Your list is beautiful!
Love you!
What a great, grand list! Thank you for such rich, solid words for me to read over this week!
Oh and I love that picture! It is so pretty!
Hey Becky - I posted a comment here this morning and just wondered if you've had any other problems with comments?
Anyway...take 2!
I LOVE YOUR LINKS!
And love you too sister~
I love my A.W. Pink's The Attributes of God. It has been a singular book (apart from the Bible) in teaching me how to understand His revelation of Himself in His Word.
