"It becomes us to spend this life only as a journey toward heaven... to which we should subordinate all other concerns of life. Why should we labor for or set our hearts on anything else, but that which is our proper end and true happiness?"
Jonathan Edwards
"I am still pondering God's greatness in His creation. I have so many questions that I would like to ask the Lord about the universe, creation, the fall of man... But when I'm in heaven, I wonder if I will even remember them. At that time, being in the presence of God will be enough. I'm thankful that I can look forward to that day."
-Persis
“Heaven is not here, it’s There. If we were given all we wanted here, our hearts would settle for this world rather than the next. God is forever luring us up and away from this one, wooing us to Himself and His still invisible Kingdom, where we will certainly find what we so keenly long for.”
- Elisabeth Elliot, Keep a Quiet Heart

Becky, this post touches me deeply. "Jesus announces Himself as the bread which will sustain the life of the soul. Not merely some doctrine--but Himself." So true. Such a great thought to carry around with me in my heart at the beginning of this Lord's Day. Bless you, my friend.
This is fitting quote for the Lord's day. May He be our only nourishment.
Lovely post! Precious Saviour! Thank you for sharing your heart...it is lovely to visit with you here Becky.
Many blessings,
Camille
We celebrated communion yesterday at church and it really touched me when the pastor read Luke 22:19,especially when he came to, "This is my body given for you." Christ's body freely given for us! It is so hard for me to wrap my head around the immense meaning, grace and beauty of it all!! Great post! Love and hugs!
